We work closely with our global men's health partners to ensure collaboration, transparency and accountability for every project we fund. We monitor this through report cards which detail what we seek to achieve, key measures and the impact.
Prostate Cancer
"Together with the brightest minds in research, we aim to achieve significant breakthroughs in the hope of beating prostate cancer. Our disruptive funding approach identifies revolutionary ways to accelerate health outcomes by creating strong, global collaborative teams." Dr. Colleen Nelson, Global Scientific Chair.
Men's Health
"One Mo can help change the face of men’s health through the powerful conversations created globally during Movember. Men have the chance to confidently discuss men’s health with people around them, resulting in men taking action early, helping change and save lives." Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes
Mental health and suicide prevention
“The number of men taking their own lives around the world is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Movember is working to ensure all men and boys look after their mental health and are comfortable to seek help when they’re struggling.”
Brendan Maher, Global Director, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Testicular Cancer
“Despite being the 2nd most common cancer in young men, testicular cancer is often a forgotten cancer due to early detection and treatment. Our projects look at underinvested areas such as improving access to healthcare services and treatment options for relapse” Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes.

About the project

MomenTIM brings together both clinical and community supports for a more integrated and holistic approach to mental health and well-being services targeted at young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Indigenous) men.
The key elements of MomenTIM include.

  • Engagement of young Indigenous men.
  • A marketing campaign aimed at de-stigmatizing mental health and encouraging personal conversations about mental health.  This campaign includes the design of a line of fashionable and popular apparel for young Indigenous men to be available through incentivised health checks and program participation.
  • Improved clinical access and pathways for young Indigenous men.
  • Community Coalitions to build a whole of community response to address the mental health issues of young Indigenous men.
  • Delivery of TIM (Tomorrow’s Indigenous Men) program in schools and in the community.  TIM is designed to empower our young Indigenous men to take control of their health and well-being, focusing on cultural identity, leadership, healthy relationships and mental health.
  • Professional Development to build the professional and personal capacity of the project team.
  • Research and evaluation built on both clinical and qualitative data.
  • The clinical and community supports are free and available to those young Indigenous men that satisfactorily complete a health assessment and meet the age requirements of the project.  MomenTIM is currently being managed in Deception Bay (Brisbane) and Mount Isa in Queensland; and Wellington, New South Wales, in order to provide a mix of urban, rural and remote communities.
MomenTIM is overseen by a Governance Committee.   This Committee includes the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CEOs from 3 Aboriginal Medical Services, IUIH Clinical Services Director, University of Queensland Research Officers, MomenTIM Regional Coordinator and IUIH Communications Team Leader and meets bi-monthly.

There are a number of other committees established to focus on particular parts of MomenTIM including research, marketing, program development and community coalitions.
